Device Adapter and Charger Deals

Few things start a trip off on the wrong foot than arriving at your hotel and finding you can’t recharge your devices. Check out our guides to the Best Travel Adapters and Best Wireless Chargers to make sure you won’t run out of juice the moment you land.

The MacBook’s power brick is an ungainly beast. If you’re lugging one around with you on your travels, you might not feel like packing a whole other bulky adapter. The PlugBug slips right on top of your existing Apple charger and works with outlets in 150 countries, and has two USB-A ports for charging other devices on top of that.

Forget juggling a bunch of individual cables to charge all your devices. This interconnected, folding charger lets you charge up to three devices wirelessly while keeping them all bundled in one place for convenience.

Contributor Simon Hill says the build quality “isn’t stellar”, but it packs a lot of features into one package that are actually pretty useful, including three 10-watt wireless charging pads, a USB-C charging port, an alarm clock, and LED night light. It even plays sleep sounds to help lull you into a slumber.

We recommend the Zendure Passport II Pro in our guide to the Best Travel Adapters because of its speediness in charging large devices. It packs two USB-C ports, three USB-A ports, and an AC socket. The USB-C port, at 61 watts, can fully charge a 13-inch MacBook Pro in about two hours, so you can spend less time in the hotel charging.

Audio and Tablet Deals

These have the best noise cancellation of any wireless earbuds we’ve tested. Associate editor Parker Hall rated these a 7/10, WIRED Recommends, calling the 8 hours of battery life class-leading. A recharging case offers an additional 16 hours of run time. Note that these tend to be a bit large for smaller ears.

Gear editor Adrienne So says the sound quality of these wireless earbuds is excellent, and they offer an IP57 rating for dust- and water-resistance and eight hours of battery life. Like many premium earbuds these days, the Elite 7 Active comes with a charging case that adds an additional 22 hours of runtime.

This is Amazon’s flagship tablet—the biggest and fastest available. It was refreshed recently (7/10, WIRED Recommends) with a brighter screen and 3 GB of RAM. The new Fire HD 10 Plus is also on sale for Prime Day. For $105, you get 4 GB of RAM and wireless charging. Just know that Google office apps don’t work on Fire devices. But that sounds like a good excuse to stop working and watch a movie instead, if you ask us.

The fact that Lenovo made this tablet, the best Android tablet, for under $350 is a minor miracle. The fact that you can get it for this price right now is a downright steal. The MediaTek Helio G90T chip inside is powerful enough that the P11 Plus rarely feels slow and the 11-inch LCD screen looks sharp thanks to the 2K resolution.

Deals to Help You Pack

Before you enjoy your trip, you have to make sure all your stuff makes it there all right. My guide, The Best Travel Bags, has loads of picks for carry-on suitcases and duffel bags, as well as even more useful travel gadgets.

Samsonite is having a 25 percent off sale on some of its suitcases. Our favorite carry-on suitcase, the Outline Pro, isn’t on sale, but Samsonite’s newest lightweight suitcase is. All four wheels spin, allowing you to roll the bag down a narrow airline aisle, and it has interior dividers for easy packing.

Both I and product reviewer Medea Giordano have been using UrPowers for years to vanquish wrinkles during our travels. Mine has been going strong for four years, and it works so well that I use it at home, too. It’s small enough that you’ll only steam one or two garments before needing to refill it, but it’s compact and packs easily in any carry-on.

Airlines can be strict about the weight allowances for checked bags. Anytime I’ve planned to check a bag in the past 10 years, I’ve weighed it with this scale to make sure I won’t have to pay an overweight overload. It’s easy-to-use and no-frills—exactly the sort of user experience I want before having to subject myself to TSA lines and rituals at the airport.
